Another day of up, but this time it was all on tarmac! The scenery is truly amazing and it is really hard to put in words how amazing it is. Even the photos we have taken don´t really do it justice. As our day progressed the altitude started to take affect on me. Initially it was only subtle but the higher we went the stranger I felt, slightly light headed which made handling the bike interesting!
The day was hardly a walk in the park, but the ´be there´ part really made up for it and the cherry on the cake was the camping pitch we found. Again we looked at 2, but the first was up a track which looked as though a vehicle had been up recently. Now the second was up next to a small river, there was a pitch only just big enough for our tent and it was well out of sight of the road, perfect! Once pitched we started cooking and we were soon in the tent due to the drop in temperature. It went from 32degC during the day to 9degC at about 8:00pm. The only time we did venture out was to clean our teeth and it was then we noticed how clear the sky was, not only is the scenery spectacular during the day, the night sky is equally spectacular!
