We were woken from a very good night sleep by Rodrigo our Expedition leader, for some strange reason he started the wake up call with the theme music Star Wars. Anyway we headed up stairs for our first breakfast and what a breakfast, buffet so all you could eat a cyclist dream! We sat and ate with Juan-Charles and Audrey and another couple called Melony and Christopher who are from the UK.
Our view from the windows was of open ocean and nothing else, you truly felt the isolation and what a lovely feeling it was. We had another welcome speech from Rodrigo and he outlined what we were going to do over the trip and more importantly what was going to happen today. It appeared to be a very busy day ahead!

So, what can you do on a ship which is out in the middle of nowhere? Scan the horizon for wildlife and enjoy the company of the other guests. I actually spent quite alot of my time birdwatching although this was thin on the ground (sorry sea) as there was very little wind, no wind, no birds. I did see Wondering Albatross, Black browed Albatross and some Wilson's petrels, not a great day twitching, but a start.
Our evening meal was outstanding and at this rate we will both be huge by the time we reach solid ground again.
